This page summarises the fees charged by Happy Clinic, a private online psychiatry service for adults aged 18 and over. This website doesn’t charge for anything and doesn’t provide consultations itself.

What’s included
- A consultation by video with a GMC-registered consultant psychiatrist
- A treatment plan after assessment, which may include medication, advice on therapy options and follow-up appointments
- Prescriptions issued in appointments are included in the appointment fee
- A clinical summary for you, and for your GP with your consent
What costs extra
- Pharmacy dispensing charges. You pay the pharmacy for your medicine. Prices vary between pharmacies and medicines.
- Further appointments. Each titration review or follow-up is charged separately.
- Repeat prescriptions between appointments, if needed.
- Physical health checks. If you’re asked for blood pressure, pulse or weight readings, you may need your own monitor or a pharmacy or GP check.
Happy Clinic does not write medico-legal or benefits reports, provide psychological therapy, see children, or provide emergency or crisis care.
Working out the likely total
Private ADHD care usually involves more than one appointment. As a guide, the typical stages are:
- Assessment: £400.
- Titration, if medication is started: £200 per review. The number of reviews depends on how you respond, as NICE recommends adjusting the dose step by step until the best balance is found. See titration.
- Shared care request, once stable: £500. Your GP decides whether to accept. BMA guidance says GPs can decline shared care for any reason. See shared care.
- Ongoing care: if your GP accepts shared care, your GP usually prescribes. If not, you continue with private prescriptions (£150 per repeat prescription request, subject to clinical review) and follow-ups (£200), plus pharmacy costs.
NICE recommends that ADHD medication is reviewed at least once a year by a professional with ADHD expertise, so plan for regular reviews whichever route you take.
Comparing with other options
NHS assessments are free, but waits can be long. Right to Choose in England may offer a shorter NHS-funded wait, depending on where you live. Read NHS or private to weigh up the options, and what an assessment involves to know what you’re paying for.
